Service Aim
The Lyndoch and Districts Outside School Hours Care Service aims to provide a quality Out of School Hours Care service at an affordable price to families who have children eligible to attend under the Commonwealth Government Priority of access guidelines.
The program is available for all children attending primary school, and a limited number of kindy children who have older siblings already accessing OSHC. Vacation Care is available to all children attending primary school or who will be commencing primary school in the next term. Families are required to enrol children prior to attending the service.
The Program
Our program is designed to assist children to develop life, leisure and social skills through play situations.
Children and families are encouraged to guide staff with activity ideas and interests.
You can do this:
Informally - by making suggestions and giving ideas to staff; or
Formally - through the suggestion box
Children are able to request activities they would like to engage in throughout each session and will be encouraged to help plan other activities.
This method of programming allows staff to provide appropriate and age specific activities that your child is interested in, catering our program to suit the individual child. It helps your child develop self help skills, decision making skills, and recreational interests. This method allows children to explore things that interest them and achieve a skill level to their own satisfaction through the most natural method of learning - PLAY!
Programmed activities are not compulsory and every child will be able to make a choice about the activities they involve themselves in.
National Quality Framework
Lyndoch and Districts OSHC participates in the National Quality Framework. Information about the Quality Standards, the My Time Our Place Curriculum Framework and the National Regulations is available from the service or the Australian Children Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) website.
